Any one removed the foil from kitchen doors and painted the MDF?

No disrespect here, so please don’t take this offensively but the kitchen decor looks somewhat dated. It is very likely whoever ends up purchasing that will already be factoring into their offer the price for a replacement kitchen.
What happens all too often is the seller fits a new kitchen then the buyer rips it out in 6 months and replaces it with style and layout they prefer because they didn’t like the original.
I would advise either not bothering, or getting the whole kitchen modernised and reflect that the price of the property. Most of the time it’s not worth the bother…

my opinion with alot of people buying homes is you cant expect sellers to remove the cost of the kitchen because they dont like it otherwise you might as well rip out the kitchen and sell as is

the buyers have become disrespectful by demanding or holding sellers to ransom thats with newer kitchens

yes alot of kitchens look dated

its not only happening with kitchens its also with built in wardrobes as well

its getting so bad you might as well bare home it back to a shell

There are companies that will replace the doors and draw fronts without removing the carcasses relatively cheap kitchen upgrade, but if your selling don't bother just have it explained to any viewers why you have left the kitchen in sh&t mode cause they might not like it as finished.

worked in a few houses where they ripped a virtually new kitchen and bathroom out and replaced. best just leaving as is as long as its tidy ish

Thats the issue its just tatty, lets the rest of the house down. Just waiting for a professional quote to spray them but I suspect I will be getting the paint brush out soon!

Professional respray place £2100+ Vat A complete set of new Doors, architrave kick boards etc around £1300 from memory from B&Q.
Bought a new heat gun as mine sounds rather unwell £21
Two match pots £5 odd.
Winchwoman has decided on the colour, I stripped the foil stuff off with the heat gun in about an hour
Should be painting this weekend
Treated her to some Plinth lights too!
Sealer Primer and top coat should be around £100ish depending on tin size

Total cost £126 for all paint and materials the brush was £10! but worth it.
I used Zinsser BIN primer and crown satin top coat
Had to spend £21 on a new heatgun but I will use that for other stuff
Winchwoman is very happy
Its not perfection but looks much better than it did

As it was bare MDF on the doors no I lightly sanded the laminated ends the primer looks like water but stuck like glue.

I was quite impressed with the finish the brush and microfibre rollers are with the little extra

Thanks will take some later the expensive brush and short micro pile roller is the key. The primer is good too as it drys in 30 mins do speeds things up

Not perfection but good enough for us as we will be selling soon. Could get a better finish with a light sand and final coat
