"Anchor nuts" is the colloquial term in the industry.

Those a fixed ones (like the OP) but floating ones are far more common as it reduces the chance of cross threading due to minor misalignment.

I'm sure I've seen things like those on a thread on another forum.
Probably car related.
I have a suspicion they were on a jag xk120 restoration, holding in some of the interior.
If I'm right, I'm sure he made some bit only because new ones were expensive.
I may be very wrong about this, may have seen them somewhere else, but might give you some leads to explore.

They look a lot like the anchors used a lot in plant rooms. Screwed to concrete ceiling, then screw threaded bar into the centres to hang cable tray, ducting, exhausts etc off overhead.

They are on a 1956 lotus and are 1/4 BSF i have found 2BA ones but the proper ones are bigger than i have. so if anyone has some 1/4 unf or bsf that would be brilliant. Great response and good fun thank you all great bunch of chaps hope you all have Gender LOL

That's odd. They ship wee bits like that via Royal Mail so are a good option for those of us in the sticks who are normally hit with massive delivery premiums. Must be a technical hitch with the website?
