Anyone looking for laser/waterjet cutting?

I've had some stuff cut by them too. I sent them some dwg's and got my parts cut for a good price, no problem there but a while later when I lost all my files in a hdd crash I asked if they could do me a favour and email me my drawings back so I still had them they wanted 'a drink' for doing it so stuff 'em I'll never use them again nor recommend them to anyone.

Have you still got the HDD Pete? I have some good recovery tools...

No it's long gone. Wish I had known you had recovery facilities though I kept that HDD for about 5 years in the hope I could recover it. Threw it out last Christmas.

That's a bit rough on them, its time most likely "own" time not hourly time. I should do my fruit if I had a guy being paid while he spent an hour or two recovering old files and sending them back for nothing, all he was asking was good will. Got to be worth a few beers or a bottle.

A good guy at a lazer cutters is worth a few drinks on its own. They are a great resource for Plate ends and such

got to say im with you there Pete even if they had the files on the hard drive in a folder the search function takes seconds to use and a few seconds more to attach, I would say its bad PR to charge people for returning a copy of their drawings from which they have had work from already

Christ, that's a bit of a pi$$ take. Talk about got you by the balls! That story will certainly make me think twice about using them again. I WAS going to use the fabricator I've been using at work for nearly 30 years, P & W Nash Engineering down at Hoo but they sub out their laser and water work so it would have been more expensive.
