Caustic may work on some paints but not others. Its a strong chemical but quite tame if you have PPE. Worth trying first.
Starchem is made up of dichloro methane, DCM, mixed as a gel. Boiling point of 40c so best used this time of year when its cold. It will go through all types of gloves and respirators offer little protection, but certainally better than nothing - enough to avoid headaches. Must be done in a very well ventilated area outside.
The best way to use DCM on a small scale, is brush it onto the part and cover it in a PE bag to contain it. Wait 15 mins and apply some more. In another 15 mins it should be soft enough to scrape off and appply more if needed.
Dont get any on your skin and wash off immediately when it gets through your gloves.
