Anyone tried a tent for blasting?

If you accidentally catch the wall with the blast it won't last long, even "overspray" will cause damage. You'll need to factor in extraction too.

Take BS's advice, use crushed glass, cheap as chips by the tonne from Stacey Processing.

^^ Yes, and if they can move slightly they will absorb some of the energy and last longer.

I didn't have any problems, I used a twin filter face mask and the blasting hood that came with the basting pot.
Used 1 tub of grit from machine mart, the tent was put up on the drive which is concrete pavers. The media was swept and vacuumed up afterwards,
lost about a quarter of a tub. When I do it again I'm gonna use a ground sheet, which would make recovering the media a lot easier more recoverable.

So people have had mixed experiences. I'll start by just putting a tarp out and see how I go.

I used a scrap caravan for a while with plastic sheet on the floor and partially up the sides with sheeting hanging on all sides overlapping the floor sheet to collect the media. Disposable overalls with a hood, good dust mask and a face shield, not the greatest set-up but cheap and disposable.

Just a little home made device based upon a steel tube with a turned taper base with a hole for a bearing, this was welded to the tube and formed the outer, the inner was turned from a solid bar with a taper on the bottom at an offset angle to the internal taper, at either end it had the shaft turned to fit the bottom and top bearings and seals. The upper end was drilled and tapped so when it was assembled you could adjust it up and down to determine your glass size, the top bearing assy was bolted into position for accurate alignment with a locking nut to lock your setting.

This had an outlet at the bottom attached to a small enclosed chute to collect the crushed glass.

This was filled with a filling chute at the top in which you could throw glass and switch the motor on to power the centre crusher.
