1978 as an 18 year old braising under a car with a carbon arc torch. Molten brass up the sleeve of the overalls Big blob of the stuff too. Still have the scar.

My stupid workmate is renowned for setting himself on fire when welding or grinding. Last year he's grinding on a bench and firing the sparks at his hip area. Not noticing until his overalls caught alight, he then pats the flames out, and the melting material stuck to his hands! He got sent to hospital to get them treated. Needless to say, he now has flame retardent overalls!
I returned to the workshop at work to find my fellow fitter trying to remove a set of smouldering overalls. Our overalls were fire retardant but he never washed his so there was enough oil & grease in them to burn quite well, set alight from using a 9" grinder. 
What made it worse was that it was summer time & he only had shorts on underneath so his very hairy legs were getting singed as well! 
He was panicking & I was laughing that hard that neither of us thought to use the extinguisher hanging on the wall!
