We got all of the above this year....however its getting cut back in favour of a generalised "engineering systems NC" as "thats what employers want innit?"

I've yet to speak to an employer who have ever been consulted on framework conent. Eng sys NC will no doubt be cheaper to deliver!!

I know a bit about this because of my wife's involvement in FE. Employers get a say but only at board level! Now in Lancashire that means aerospace, smaller firms don't often have time and resources to let their directors take up such roles at FE providers. The other factor is the provider themselves needs bums on seats and go for the largest common denominator in matching their course curriculum to the majority needs. Instructor to pupil ratios are how their business draws either a profit or a loss. Instructors are "generally" very poorly paid compared to actually doing in industry and of course you generally get what you pay for so that's also a factor in delivery of less called for stuff "locally"
