I've used a twin carbon set up attached to a buzz box to bronze weld many times.

(Your rods could well be bronze, not brass, anyway.)

Years ago most of my car repairs were done with a cheap 140amp buzz box and a carbon arc torch.
Wouldn't get away with it for MOT repairs now though!

a buzz box and the carbon arc torch , not very expensive i shouldnt think !

dont bother trying one. they produce a lot of heat but are clumsy and u cant localise it

Just thinking laterally but if you have one it may be possible to use a TIG torch to braze, just using the arc to provide the heat, I bet it is difficult though.

Adrian, TIG Brazing is a different process using uncoated rods, it (the filler) does not flow in the same way as it would in oxy / fuel brazing.
