are these worth importing

i have no problem with the standard stinger on my parweld but cant really see how the one above would benefit anything, just looks like a different type of croc stinger

As said above,it provides enough clamping force to hold in place big rods,and allows you to bend the rod to suit your position.tools for the pipeline are more robust,pricier and job specific than anything parweld makes.they wouldnt sell if they were just bling or urinating contests

Myking are okay, but I find them a bit short. I like my hand quite a way back as I have a habit of using the rods down to the last 5mm

Ok so ill keep my twist type but if I head out to Canada next year ill pick one up or if I get a lathe or mill I might make one once I find out how to use or own one lol

I like a good quality tong type rod holder, it's amazing how bad some are though and I can see why most people are put off if that's their only ever experience of that type of rod holder.

Exactly a quality one is very secure and faster than anything else to position load and dispose of stubs

Haha that contraption looks ridiculous! What's wrong with the normal twist type ones that cost about £3 and are used by all welders on all big jobs for the last few decades?

All welders all jobs? Don't think so I hate them twist type as do many more

You need two hands to twist and they are slow
If you burn to far down and get a stub that don't want to drop straight out then you end up shaking the thing
Nope I like the simple spring clamp type!

I was referring to all professional welders on every job I've seen (apart from offshore where we have them twist ones with 2 holes in because they're fully insulated)

It's all opinions to preference and everybody is different. You've picked the wrong place to chuck your weight around. Also your avatar shows an average tig weld at best so I wouldn't be picking on some of these guys who can pull out nicer stuff after a heavy session.
