You’ve not got a problem then. Waste of gas going down the Hollywood route of huge ceramics and high gas flows

I’ve just got this after a while of using 2 bottles and 2 regulator.
Game changer already neater set up And all in the same place
I still get bad looking welds and I’ve been trying back purge and gas lense for a while now one cramp or wrong move with shiney stainless and it sticks out like a sore thumb lol

Sorry to jump on this, I’m about the make a back purging device of some nature.

donyou need to run the purging gas at or the same as the torch flow or can it be backed down a load ?

Im a beginner and just practising so don’t want to throw argon in the air for fun, I do have a spare flow gauge like the ones above but I do notice when doing an open joint, the end results is just dull grey and pickling on the backside.

You don't want the flow/pressure too high or it pushes the weld puddle back out slightly. It happened to me a few times, the weld looked perfect on the outside, but there was nothing inside.

Once you’ve got the oxygen out of whatever you’re welding back the flow right down to a minimum

On say an exhaust tube I block the end with tin foil etc and restric the flow to stop oxygen creeping back in if the flow is too low, after the initial purge.
