Balancing twin carbs ?

Are there removable screws or plugs in the yellow circles, if so you could possibly use a motorbike carb balancer??

I will elaborate on my first post, seeing as the penny does not seem to have dropped, with you or anyone else. You have only taken the elements off the air cleaners not the air cleaners themselves. Take the rest of the filter boxes off and you can use whatever carb balancer you want.

It took me a whole morning to get eight of them in tune, a small tweak and then its back to the ecu for more number crunching which then raises/lowers the idle, back the butterflies off and more numbers needed. Got there in the end but its a long winded job. Carbs are easy compared to a mappable ecu.

Closed loop lambda sorts it. Not that I use one.

I have one of these somewhere in the workshop... and used to tune my SU carbs on my Rover V8 with it plus other twin carb set ups.

I have one just like that, but somewhat less shiny!
Also has a detatchable rubber cone thing that fits over that big rubber donut.
This is the first time I've seen another one!

You take the air filters off before trying to fit the vac gauge! Sory flowmeter.

So as you see in these pics i posted the air filter has been removed, so where do you say i fit the Flowmeter ? And which flow meter ?

Two bolts facing downwards and one upwards in each air filter mounting flange. I could be wrong, but expect, once removed, standard carb flanges will be underneath, which can be fitted with those flowmeter type carb balancers.

You can remove the intake manifold, the reason i posted the pic of what i have, if i remove the plate you get this, but with the injector still inplace as that needs to be kept there for the carb to work properly

OK, sorry, looks like the bit of tube and listen method is the only option. I have tried it, but found my crappy Gunson Carbbalancer easier.

Regarding using balance gauges, you could drill and tap a thread in or around the areas marked in red, then screw in an adaptors to use a balance gauge set and once balanced fit blanking screws to re-seal the manifolds as per old style motorcycle carb balancing.

The part of the manifold directly under the carbs should be solid material?

I presume the connecting back part of the inlet manifold is a water cooling/heating exchanger?
