FYI for those on the fence, Bambu are having a decent sale on their printers. I've ordered a P1P and will report on how it is after it arrives!

Well, I've managed to import an object that I've drawn up in Fusion360 into the printer software. Will have a go at printing it tomorrow. At least I have progressed from pressing go on a preloaded sample. There's hope for me yet. Fusion doesn't usually play nicely with me so I'm happy so far. I'm sure it will be educational and possibly character building.

They are very addictive! I have over 400 print hours on my P1S that I got in March

First proper print from scratch done. Very pleased. I wanted a printer that would work out of the box which is why I went for one of these. Plus they were on sale.

The only set-up issue I had was connecting the laptop to the printer. The software allowed me to load up a print but it wouldn't let me connect to the printer without logging into an account. I spent some time typing in a PIN to connect the two, to no effect. It didn't work till I had logged into the account. A decent error message telling me to log in first would have saved a lot of time and frustration rather than just being unresponsive.

The software printed mostly from base settings, I just upped the fill to 20% and beefed up the top and bottom shell thickness.


The fault on the print is my mistake. I had the machine printing material into mid-air without support. I need to learn about adding support structures.

The print is about 0.3mm short on the outside dimensions. The big hole came in at 29.92mm instead of 30mm. The small holes are about 9.7mm instead of 10mm

I did some test prints and measured them. You can then adjust the drawing or print percentage to compensate.

Good to know. It's little things like that which can help a lot.

For my immediate purposes, the tolerances are close enough. I just want to see how everything fits together before I start bothering the Bridgeport.

Cheers for the nudge MOL. Had another go, scaling the print up by half of one percent. I also found the support options.

To be honest, the support didn't a very good job, considering the effort it took to remove it afterwards. Not on issue for this application but I would like to sort it later.

The bronze flange is too large and needs machining down to fit the counter sink. The printer is doing the job I wanted though.

Try tree supports they are a lot easier to remove and usually print quicker aswell

Cheers @iNf. I'm halfway through another print but I've just previewed tree supports and they look good. Will deffo try them next time.

This was a 12hr+ print even on the Bambu, as you can see the supports pretty much stayed on the plate when it was removed

Got an x1c and work has one too.
Do love it coming from a creality.
Just seems to do everything remarkably well.
