Basic compressor>tool setup?

whats wrong with putting connectors in the end of the tank ? thats how a lot of bigger compressors are setup and supplied. small compressors often take the air through a load of undersized clutter and a nasty cheep filter reg. so tools dont go much.

on mine i take air strght out the end of the tank to a manifold of fittings. anything that really needs a pressure reg as one on it and thats not much

Put a lever valve on it first, of course, if you're that bothered.
And you can keep your disapproving head-shaking stuff to yourself, matey.

I'm not fussed at all - i know what I need to do to keep myself safe. The OP DOESN'T as far as I know.

makes no odds putting a ball valve on a quick disconnect fitting . its the length of your pipe full of air when u disconnect to how much blow back u get at any pressure unless u have one fitted and turn it off and purge the air in outlet pipe before disconnecting

OK. I stand corrected. Thinking about it now, you're absolutely right. The worst is when I disconnect a 30m hose - and it's the air escaping from the hose, not the QD coupling.
I am wrong.

must admit on my quick disconnect I stand to one side and hold both pipes either side of fitting so it doesn't blast off and hit me in the face

there is one long airline here i had to put a ball valve on the male probe, it's a hell of a length most of it is the old 25mm alkathene water pipe and there is a lot of it, was an easy way to get air in machenary shed as ther is no power there , pipe is that lomg it is a tank in itself but pop that QR and it will batter you

I'll try the compressor as it comes first & if it doesn't deliver, will look at the direct connection with valve. Haven't seen the compressor for a while, so not sure of what it does or doesn't have.
