There's a single phase RJH bandfacer fairly local to me for £200 at the moment if you fancy a trip?
Cracking bit of kit, I love mine.

fftopic:Wow, that'll be a bargain for someone! Overkill for my needs; I'm after something smaller, and something I can easily move outside.
(Also, my wife would kill me if I even considered making a trip across Scotland for that; she knows two people that have received heavy fines for unneccesary travel...)
Thanks for posting @grim_d !

Is going to view/buy a machine deemed unnecessary thought it would be legitimate business travel?
I've messaged them on your behalf
They are super useful tools and size isn't always the problem with the smaller ones. The problem is they can be cheap and nasty. This is a great video by one of the most awesome YouTubers out there, sorting out a cheap and cheerful belt grinder to perfection.
looks to be going to far too much effort to try to turn a grinder into a precision machine, which is something it never will be. the only real mod that Ive needed to do on mine was to reprofile the tensioning wheels as they wore away in the middle. I do use a diamond cup wheel on mine for sharpening lathe tools.
