Batricar Serene 36V with a fault.

Fully charged would be about 42V. It might be worth trying to look at the battery level circuitry to see if there's a problem, e.g. an open circuit voltage divider resistor.

Might be, soon after removing the charger - but should settle to about 37 1/2 - 38V, given time to settle.

Charging completed a few hours later and the meter is now showing fully charged. That hasn't helped with getting the motor to start though!

How do you disengage the drive so you can push the thing when the battery is dead ? The one we had (not a batricar) would not run unless it was switched on when you re-engaged the drive If you re-engaged drive then switched it on it would not go. It caused some head scratching and had to have some silicon spray round it to re-engage it.

Most have a lever to disengague the gears or motor from the wheels.

That's what I'm saying, the buggy we had wouldn't start because of that. I had to strip it and put it back together but it still would not go if you re-engaged it with the key in the off position then switched it on, the key had to be in the on position when you engaged the drive lever or the motor still would not start.

Interesting thought but there is no interlock switch on this one. The chap from Gewiz is going to test the controller for me next week, so that will reduce the number of variables.

I fixed a mobility scooter recently with a hit and miss fault, turned out the drop on battery pack hard got a burned up bad connection which i cleaned up and then it was fine
