Yes, the earth is connected to the frame inside the socket boxes. The body of the lamps are also earthed on the inside.

I'm not trying to be a H&S nanny, is that switch rated for those sockets? It looks like a lamp cord switch and they have a fairly low current rating.

You're right, it's rated to 10a, not 13. I intended to use a switched socket. If I sell them I'll have to alter things but since it's just me using it and the only things that will be plugged in are a lamp and a Google home mini or phone/tablet/kindle charger it will be fine for my use..

Edit: it's an architrave switch, rather than a lamp cord switch
