I prefer the non rusty one, would just put a clear lacquer on the raw steel.

That looks fine but does not last out of doors. I have searched for somebody who can clear coat mild steel and give a guarantee on it lasting. I had one done, cost £1k with a two year warranty.

heck you might as well do it in stainless. there is a salmon sculpture in whalley here in lancs done in stainless. its placed were the flooding was so I hope it didn't migrate back to sea. If its still there I must get a picture up
