Then when we did leave they created a new phone only contract without us agreeing to it, even created a direct debit without our permission but using a persons name instead of XLN, only caught it by looking at our bank statements. Bunch of sneaky, thieving gits! All direct debits now cancelled, but they are still sending a bill every month, watching closely for another mysterious direct debit.

Try googling XLN broadband, well known for dodgy practices!

that to me is fraud and a police and a bank matter

the bank and the police should be all over it

watch out for your credit record being black marked through that company uk reference you can go after the company if they black mark your credit record and sue them for doing so dont know what it is in your area though

Thanks @Turbo, I know about the voip limitations. Open Reach want to switch off the analogue network by the end of 2025, fortunately the mobile signal is good where I live.

my issue at the moment is cost for the internet

i hate the con of broadband but you still need the phone line to be paid for as thats bounces the cost per month

ive looked at all of them

broadband by mobile phone and hotspotting it 30.00 and it gets restricted even the one thats says its unlimited

broadband by fibre thats the tricky one some areas still need a phone line connection 24.00 + line 10-15.00 extra

broadband by cable 30.00

they all quote untrue prices on the internet cheapest ive gotten too is 29.00 just for broadband ( virgin media )

Our Virgin installer was quite amenable to suggestions. He was going to put the box on the side of the house with fibre running to it but it was safer on the front with the cable running from it, less chance of me knocking it off with the trailer.

ive found a few issues with using mobile broadband

ive got 3g and ive found that suppliers are slowing the speed down to a crawl if your using the 3g network

ive had to go out and buy a 4g phone s4 mini upgrade as i have the s3 mini

so i tried both 3g and 4g or 2 broadband connections lyca mobile and giffgaff

both are restricted if your using the 3g network once you swap to the 4g network you get the speed back

this is what i was getting on both

ive played with the mobile broadband 30gb and 80 gb

this is 80gb some use of youtube

61gb used out of 80gb about 10-15gb was allocated to the upload usage rate

2.4gb lost

113 files 33.4gb

209 files 25.5gb

No wonder virgin are standing firm on prices. They know we can't get anything else yet.
