Best “chrome” paint for plastic headlamp reflectors

I could do with recoating the projector bowls of my e60 hid headlights as the light output is so poor. The bowls have basically been cremated

I wonder if silver leaf would work. It would be no good for the manufacturers as it's too expensive for them, but for making a headlamp work it might be worth a look.

Paint the lot black and put an other projector in or use a bi-projector

We used to use polish to take the shine out of them and make them look cool

Was a nightmare in the rain at night

Iv seen chrome powder coat and it’s rubbish has more of a green/blue tint to it than chrome

Ive used some chrome spray I thought I’d used up. Itll “do” when Ive removed the overspray. Im going to put this one back together with the filament lamps and keep them as a spare pair in case of any mot issues with the projectors fitted. Now Ive got the hang of getting the fronts off Ill convert mine as the lenses and reflectors are in far better condition

Built a test set today so I can test everything including the levelling motors before gluing the lenses back on

Ended up not bothering with the painted bowl, i wouldnt have been able to unsee it. Ive used the oven method to melt the lens glue and can split a unit and clean the excess in ten minutes so converted a good one off the car. Im more than impressed with the light output and beam cut off
