I'll pickup some wood glue tomorrow.

Glue, I'll do this in 3 pieces.

As the glue dried I started making a leak.

I made a lid already but a band clamp holding the 2 pieces together and the spill so I could feel it.

There is still a bit to do but am happy so far.

I will use the ugly plugs to my full advantage.

The can has a crimp rolled edge to replicate this I cut a doughnut.

So to the label
The laser cutter may need another alignment but it's nothing a file https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File_(tool) can't handle.

Some extra work needed to cram it flush in the hole and beat the tabs round.
I listen to my own advise here, Tell yourself it is easy to take off harder to put back on.
I always work oversize.

Rounded the rim.

....and hunted my stash for the bottom.
This fits nicely and will give the can a nice punt. It's better than the pressed dish.
