also could i alter the mix to make it a little hotter to say burn in a keroseen boiler

I'd be inclined to burn raw waste cooking oil in my stove and use the money I save to buy petrol - a lot less hassle.

The bulk of the waste goes to the local council tip,it goes into the waste oil tank,(i did tell them what it was first),it's impossible to drain it all out so when i clean the processor out after each batch the water used to clean it goes down the drain,i usually fill the processor about 1/2 full and let it circulate for a while,due to the amount of water used everything left in there is so well diluted its negligible so not volatile,dangerous or harmfull.

Are any local authorities starting to issues stop notices due to the anti social smell in a resedential place ?

Do you need planning conscent to produce at home /

Any fire regs to comnply with ?

Any HASAW type laws to observe ?



Before the supermarkets hiked up the price of rapeseed cooking oil to above that of diesel .( it used to be less than half price ).

I was using 40ltrs to 100 ltrsdiesel direct into my KIA ( Sedona ) common rail 6 cyl engine .


I had done well over 8K when I stopped because I'd heard about the caramelization glaze from combustion in cold cylinders sticking pistons in the bore .( App 30 k ago. )

It does not seem to have caused any probs , I'm now on almost 70k and due to change it next month . It can still do max rpm and max speed and have not seen the glow plug indicator light on even in the recent - 15 oC we have had.

I only ask because Iv been involved with a commercial producer, (running lines tanks, and heat coils) for first stage (only water separation) for the last 15 years...

last 5 years, the list of following jobs have been enforced by the EA....

1. total site bund all run off to be classed as toxic...
2. waste water tanks, again classed as toxid.... DOC ticket required.
3. Diesel tank for the steam boiler, to be separate from site bund...
4. Site bridge compiling to weights and measures all all on to be weighed, all oil off to be weighed..
5. Various waste site Management Tickets to be held by all employees..
