He did sometimes come across as a bit grumpy on here tbh, but I learned so much from his posts when I first joined the forum. I might go back and reread some later just to enjoy his work again.

I feel privileged that we've had the likes of Langy, Norsa, and Burdekin, on here to share expertise.

It is. Ill stick my neck out and claim it will be the nicest Brat in the UK when finished. Its cost him litterally tens of thousands for me to restore the shell.

I'll have a look. I've painted the shell and have the panels ready for paint as soon as the client has re fitted the shell so there will be more. Maybe I'll keep this thread alive by posting some of my projects.

Looks lovely, now that some cars originally painted in water based are being restored are you still using solvents or water based paints?

I'm being asked to do paint work on more modern classics but turning most of it away using the excuse of its too new for us.

I won't ever use water based paints Bert. I have no experience or training with them so don't need the cars coming back with post shrinkage flaws. I learned using celly and re learned 2k in the 80s so will only use 2k polyester base and Acrylic lacquers now. If the client want to use any other system, I refer them to local crash repair shops who generally shy away from classics.

Pretty much same as I do my boss doesn't like me turning away work but i don't want to be doing rework because I don't understand or have experience with a product just because the customer wants it.

Very wise. I'm self semi retired but the boss of Browns won't commit me to doing anything without consulting me first. Pointless having a dog and biting the postman yourself eh.

Having flooded the panel and graphics with four full wet coats of clear.

I flat the whole lot completely back with 320 then 600 ready for a flow coat.

Some of you may remember this footage of the volvo I double handed last year. The owner has almost reassembled it now so bits of tidy up to sort.
