My concoction took the shine off, but still left a uniform silvery grey look. I maybe have to experiment some more.

Maybe just get them beadblasted very lightly, it would take a few seconds to just give a sort of well-worn look.

Starting to get to the final leg, wiring is getting there, brakes are plumbed, battery mounted......

..my steampunk/classic car/Selected Grub influenced dashboard. Still got some more stuff to do on it.

Tomorrow may be the day I connect the battery to the electrics..... and hope I don’t release the magic harness smoke.

For fixing your floor down, I have a load of aluminium csk washers that I used to sell for go-kart floor plates. They are made for use with M6 csk machine screws/bolts. Either plain ally, not anodised, or anodised gold. I have a couple of hundred of each. Let me know if you are interested and how many you may need (ps, they are cheap!)

Thanks for the offer, but I plan to use stainless slotted ‘raised countersunk’ screws when the floor goes down for good. I tried it with countersunk washers and it looked a bit odd, so the slotted screws will sink neatly, hopefully blend in.

Same with the firewall, I tried it with the washers, didn’t look right, so just the countersunk screwS there now.
