Which take me to next question… with regulator valve closed, when I open the cylinder valve I get gas flowing through the hose. Is that right? I know good practice is to turn off at the bottle but logic would suggest “closed” on regulator is actually closed?
Aye, I quickly figured out the regulator is counter intuitive- anticlockwise to close!Have you turned the regulator clockwise to 'close' it?
If so, you've wound it to full pressure!
Turn the regulator knob anti-clockwise to release the pressure and the flow should stop. Adjust it clockwise to get the pressure/flow you want (using a flow gauge of some sort).
