don't bother fitting any rod if its not in solid damp ground it defeats the object wetting it as it will dry out and be useless

Mine are! But if you don't have that luxury you can create your own damp conditions. I'm speaking from experience, I'm not sure you are?

I'm talking from an electrical experience and regulations on earth rod resistance readings. I presume u know how to get the readings down on rods on sandy or rocky ground ?? yes there's 2 ways of achieving a good reading

I'd advise against using thin glass unless you're happy that whatever you have behind it will stop it being broken by debris that may be lurking in the dirty item you're blasting. I've seen small pebbles trapped in the cooling fins of scooter engine casings.

I still wear goggles and a P2 paper mask when using my blast cabinet.

Nothing wrong with using glass as a screen protector, perfectly safe. 4mm glass. Far better than plastic if you are doing a lot of blasting and being I work on my own I need effiecency and no other screen protector can offer ad they damage so easy never mind all the other irritations. No media gets behind my screen protector and lil knocks don't render it in need of change.

glass needs a pressure point or sharp object to pierce it to break mines had a few good bats with no ill effect . even if it broke its not a large piece and wear gauntlets on hands

Like or nut, or you can easily catch the glass when turning the workpiece over.

Yes that's why plastic screen protectors suck, one touch and it's done. Try glass, you won't look back. I tried it all and just was more hassle than it's worth. The lil extra expense soon pays for itself

I run an air curtain on mine, I've got a length of copper pipe that I drilled tiny holes in an it blows across in fron the of the glass, I have a lever ball valve to control the flow. I don't bother using plastic, the glass is cheap enough to just replace.

You got any pictures? Sounds like a good idea and I have some copper piping left over from building my air system and condensers

So 4mm glass for my 220 l cabinet is £6 a panel, official glass protectors work out £5 each

What film are people using to protect their screens? Will cellophane from the florist work? The official stuff is 125 um thick (0.125 mm). Florist cello is much thinner.

Glad I came back to this thread, I'm getting some of the d/glazing units replaced for me and I'll keep the smaller ones [think there's eight in total being done] to see if I can make them fit in with my plans for a small cabinet They only have a 1/4" gap so won't be too unwieldy.

I don't bother using protectors glass lasts long enough not to bother plastic soon clouds over glass doesn't and its quick and easy to change I just use thin stuff and had no bother in 40 years

My glass frosts up after a day of blasting. I then can't be bothered to swap it out so I peer through the corners or blast blind. So I thought I'd get a few sheets of glass, I then apply film with masking tape to all three, and swap out when needed. Basically that way the glass is cleaned and re-filmed in batches.

It barely took the tow bar off my tiny Suzuki the other day. It's 220 litre which is as big as you can get before the price rockets.

Says it's 'translucent' but not how much light/detail transmission is achieved...... I've got some from when I did photo retouching, but can't remember Maybe a further Google e.g. masker's website might tell all.......
