Blasting cabinet foot valve

That only applies to the cheaper imported units though. My big Clemco has a similar setup to my blast cabinet. It has a poppet valve and an air control valve.

that is true. the deadman is for stopping and starting at the blast nozzle and poppet valve for refilling it wont do what the op wants though

I notice two gas valves on the 10 / 20 gallon ebay pots, one on the incoming air and one on the pipe down to the bottom fixture if I understand it correctly, mine does not have a valve on the pipe down to the bottom fitting so the pot and blast air are both at full pressure, there is the original grit control valve right at the bottom of the tank and at the moment that is set at about 1/2, less and it had intermittent grit supply, more I suspect would just waste grit, it does seem to have used a lot of grit in a short time looking at the trough and collection pan, don't tell my wife that I am using her alloy jam pan to collect the grit!

the incoming ball valve operates the pot the one on the blast pipe down over is left open. sometimes if u get a blockage you turn it closed and open it again and it forces all the air through the pot and unblocks it in the grit valve. pressure blows it out . there a poor design and prone to irregular metering and blocking . if you intend doing a fair bit a quality reg is needed either make one or buy one there not cheap

thanks, already sorted materials to make a new grit valve but wanted to get it working as is for inspiration, hard to get motivated at the moment,
as I am more a fabricator (bodger) than a machinist I have some 4" dia thick wall steel tube I will cut down for the body, top and bottom plates, some fittings and the jobs a goodun, maybe, I have about five foot of the tube, if anyone needs a bit! was the hydraulic ram tube from a Bradbury four post lift I modified to go up 12 feet, needed a new length of tube for that, even I could not weld two 6 foot ram tubes together, did not stop me thinking how I could do it but I didn't ……………...

I'm pretty certain all the OP wants is a foot operated valve that will start and stop the blast nozzle, he doesn't seem that bothered about being about to use said valve to refill the pot.

That's what I've done.
The air comes from the compressor into the foot valve then onto the inlet of the pressure pot.
It works for me using a similar setup, i.e. pressure pot in a blast cabinet.
Other options work but this is by far the best for my setup and I've tried a few.

I have decided to mount a lever gas valve just under the front of the cabinet that I can operate with my knee, that will shut off the air to the last two feet of the airline that feeds the pot, I will then initially jam the lever on the blast nozzle open and try that,
