Got the car back yesterday...new starter motor fitted...absolutely perfect!!! Starts better than it has for the last 2 years. After all the hassle and expense it seems to be fixed at last. Just went out this morning ..car is thick with ice ...started like a new car. I hope to God this is the end of the saga. I will run it a lot for the next couple of weeks and as long is all OK I will feel safe to sell it. Thanks for all the ideas guys but a simple fix in the end.
