bought another lathe ml7 with homemade gearbox

You want to look up 'levelling a lathe'. With a lathe like a small Myford the bolts are more than a way of bolting it down to a stand. They are also used to take twist out of the lathe. There is plenty to explain this on the web better than I can but if you don't do this it will probably turn a taper rather than a parallel cylinder. I'd recommend a book like the Amateur Lathe by Sparey. It's cheap and he uses an ML7. Old book but covers all the basics.

been busy with this lathe ive now cleaned the beds up and have some solidish oil spots to get off near the head and also at the right of the lathe bed more so where rest goes area



to me not bad damage on the lathe bed I also think theres something under carriage as its stating a grove line that I can feel my nail on the bed on the right side of it
