I have the Clarke version of the op's flare tool from machine mart.

I have used it on vehicle to make bubble flares on steel pipe. I got the technique from this video.

I made a depth gauge to get the correct protrusion (about 6mm i got some steel pipe from the scrapies to practice on)

The real secret to success was to use red rubber grease on the die

this grease is compatible with brake fluid

If you only need to do 3/16 brake pipes then this is the one to have.Perfect flares every time and you can do them in situ easily if needed. I have a vice mounted one for other sizes for general brake work this is my go to tool. It is very rewarding making pipes when you have the right tool.

I was repiping a friends hotrod recently and he wanted everything to be looking perfect. I bought one of these, the difference is makes is amazing, arrow straight pipe runs from a coiled pipe, not cheap but so easy and again perfect results

Flaremaster here as well, never let me down. I have one of their pipe bender things with a couple of rollers and two handles. Its very good but I have to practice on a bit of scrap every time I use it to determine which way it will bend and where back of bend will end up.

That only ever happens to me when I've already done 4-5 bends on a long run and I have no pipe left and then find I bent it the last bit the wrong way and it's never a slight bend that can be straightened. I always wish I had a video of my face when I realise what I've done.

I worked in a French garage for a few days fitting on board video , there was a guy re piping a car and all I heard from him was 'merde.. merde.. merde.. '

I thought same job the world over just in a different language :-)

Possibly sealer brand as laser doesn't ring a bell.
Just relined a transit front to back in both copper and steel. I kept some ends of the steel lines as the din flare I have is a PITA to get right.
The clamp is adjustable so you can really grip down on the steel pipes. Bit chunky in tight areas but very good flares.

I've got one of these, they work, much better than the one in the OP. I've made loads of pipes and done "on car" flares with no issues at all.
