Brand new cracked grinding wheel - Any Uses?

Being a tight git I cant throw away this brand new wheel just for one crack so trying to dream up some way to use it that wont spin it.

After receiving it off eBay with zero packaging it cracked in the post and i have a replacement now so this one is waiting to be used to chucked

Anyone have any ideas I was thinking of just use as a flat grinding stone, maybe a diamond disc on angle grinder make a small one for deburring ?

Depending on what grit it is you could use it like a coarse oil stone to recut worn chisels or plane blades using the side of the wheel.

All assuming the binder is not toxic, not a urethane with isocyantes - that would be a very bad idea, but I cant imagine toxic binders being used where it would turn into fine respirable dust.

It looks like aluminium oxide wheel, so should be good for high temperature stuff. (With adequate rpe) crush it up into a powder it could be used as an abrasive, or furnace lining with fire clay. I plan to do it with blasting grit if the induction isnt adequate for melting aluminum. I will line a cut propane tank with clay and a coating of AO as the hot face.

AO is expensive in small quantities, £10/kg unless you buy a 25kg bag.

get a hole cutter wheel and see if you can cut it into smaller discs

Turbo's suggestion is probably the simplest & safest option. Use it like a weird shaped oilstone.

Use it on finalizing a ground lathe cutting HSS bit as an Arkansas polishng stone if it's really fine
In an emergency , such a broken bit can be use as glass cutters especially on green glass under two years old .
Myself... I'd add it to the black bin bag and get rid of on bin day , no way would I try to glue it up and spin it as any speed let alone the correct one .

Hit it with a hammer so it splits completely, then put it in the bin. That way no idiot can try to use it

I keep an old stone for smoothing the cut edges of ceramic tiles.

Grind flat the broken ends.
Mount on a decent block of wood, use as a curved blade sharpener.

When i was about 14 my Dad broke one like that & glued it back together with Araldite, he put it on the bench grinder used it regularly for four years until having seen the grinding wheel bursting vid at college i bought him a new one & changed it.
He didnt want me to change it as he couldnt see owt wrong with it!
Good advert for Araldite though.
