Have you tried the INE rods, they are an Italian company so I should think they are easy to buy there?

No i didn't yet.
I've used SAF-FRO , siderotermica, cemont, siderarco that should be/were Italian brands .
Now I'm using Lincoln electric Bester rods and some off brand stuff

They run very similar to an oerlikon fincord, which is a nearly idiot proof rod known as the 'farmers friend' round here!

Here metalworkers seem to love oerlikon and vostalpine bohler stuff
Esab yes and no ,I do like them but many peoples don't

The ine blue's tend to burn up inside the flux a bit like 7018's so they take a good tap to get started again!

Not a problem , I have the habit to break the flux tip what ever the rod I'm using so that will not be a problem for me .
I will probably search on eBay those ine and give them a try but I've many things to buy
The plasma cutter is the next thing I'm going to buy and I will probably end up buying the Lidl one

The rods I use most of the time.
Weldkar (Dutch brand) their 7018 is really nice and available in 2mm rods as well.
Lincoln Smitweld Conarc 48, high deposition 7018 if I want to put down a lot of metal fast.
Lastek 1130 and Lastek 28. 7016 (Belgian/Dutch), great for open root on DCEN. Lastek 28 also available in 2mm.
Lincoln Smitweld Supra 6012. All position rod including vertical down.

As far as rod manufacturers/types go, last few jobs (and current) anything welded with 6010 root and 6013 fill/cap, the 6013s used have been Vodex. Personally im not all that keen on them using them in flat position. Any other position they run ok, but flat, the slag swirls around a lot and sometimes gets in the way.
For lowHy work (my preference) last couple of firms have used Filarc 56S's, and current employer uses Elga P47's. Out of the two, i prefer the 56S as they just seem to run smoother the P47 seem to produce a bit thicker slag, and the arc seems to "pop" a lot more, especially DCEN when welding a root.
