i have coated rods but still dip a hot rod in to the flux

there flux coated and flux is indented in to rod. they have gone white and powdery that's why I use separate flux as there old

I used flux coated rods to do this repair, 3/32 diameter of bronze with a heavy flux coating. No idea what grade they are, I bought them off a forum member a good few years ago now...
