Brazing / silver solder equipment advice

I refill 2kg primus bottles, they used to cost me about £25 for a refil, but now I fill them from a 6kg cylinder which costs £17 for the 6kg cylinder. I'd have got a big cylinder but I dont have the space for once, and its a bit dodgy messing about with a 47kg cylinder and trying to balance that on a workbench upside down. so here's my setup for refiling the cylinders, its not recomended though and you need to weigh the cylinders as you fill them to make sure you dont put to much liquid in them.

As near as makes no difference, 1kg of propane is 2 litres (1 litre is actually 0.51 kg) so you can safely fill (for example) a 47KG bottle with 90 litres and be well within safety limits. That does assume you own the bottle and the filling station are OK with it, which most are not - you need a smaller independent place really. The Gaslow bottles are certified for normal filling station use but they are expensive to start with. However, considering a 47KG bottle refill is about 80 quid nowadays, but to fill it with automotive LPG (the same thing) costs under 50 quid you can soon make a saving if you use a lot.

Small independent, or motorway services at 3 a.m. when the girl at the counter's doing her nails...
I have one of those adaptors too, earned its keep first two fills.

I bet you wouldn't think twice pouring petrol into the car from a can, or even from the pump for that matter.

the primus 2000 I fill using a shrader valve screwed in to the solder pressure relief safety plug .leave the torch turned on. open the valve on main tank and fill bottle turn off both taps and thats it fill to 80 percent full . same with the disposables
