British Rail 12 ton vented wagon conversion

The DIY shop is closed, so this is as far as I got before I ran out of adhesive.

And, the door catch. I'd lots of clever plans for this but in the end went for two magnets at the handles.

Brass screw in one, steel nail in the other.



Simple.

And the covers over the seat bases. The screws are loose, but that's okay.

This is taking too long. Sheeting the back of the doors brings back memories of having to get the doors to close properly. All because I didn't fully straighten one of the hinges.

Plus, I messed up one of the sheets.

its already paying off and they do look really nice done that way as well

if you didnt have those inner doors then the outer doors would be a better benefit as they are insulated and the framework that was suggested has done you alot of favours in the long run

That's where I left it today. The DIY shop has closed so no more sheeting to work with. I was hoping to finish today, but finishing this weekend is okay.

Also, carbon monoxide alarm fitted.

It's nearly there. I'll finish the doors then stop. In the spring I'll do a thorough clean and refresh of the interior. I'll trim the excess from the bolts and paint over the stainless with the grey, and fix any other chips and dings. That will do until she decides to move it elsewhere.

So, at last,I can get back to my 101 rebuild.
