Noted, although there's no sign of damp anywhere. The roof was replaced 30 years ago perhaps, so relatively new.
I did have the insulation collecting moisture in the back of my mind, so the first lot of insulation was completely wrapped in plastic and then shoved into place. I've placed extra insulation underneath that as I had some spare, then sheeted over the whole lot. Worst case, it all falls down and then i get to claim on the insurance

Just come across this post and can relate having recently pulled down the lat and plaster kitchen ceiling. I’ve been putting it off for years knowing it was going to be a mess. I wasn’t wrong. Despite covering the cupboards up with plastic and tape, using door dust guards and dust sheets the dust and dirt still managed to find its way all around the house.
With the ceiling off the next horror was the birds nest of wiring that I wasn’t expecting but the last of that was sorted out today ready for the plasterboard to go up at the weekend. I know my limitations with plastering and will be getting someone in to skim it all hopefully before Christmas.
