If you need to use high volumes of gas in a cold environment you need propane, but for using small quantities of gas in a warm environment, butane will be fine.
Thanks for the notes. Maybe one small thing to add in a footnote is that the volume (draw off rate) is as important as the temperature. Hence, another way to square the circle is to manifold a number of bottles together.
I have never considered it before, but your remarks on pressure make me wonder if blue and red Calor bottles have the same constructional details, material thickness and pressure test regime as each other.
