Calor 47kg Gas Bottle Valve

So how many litres can a 47kg sized gas bottle hold?

Followed a another thread on here and found this:

Would that be a better idea than a reducing bush etc?

Nothing better than a hammering session!!

If you ever need to use one of those hoses there is a non return valve in the bull nose that can cause a bit of head scratching if you want to use the hose to pass air or whatever in both directions

It is easily removed though

Once you have removed the brass valve assy from the bottle , you can buy BSP fittings in a variety of materials from any hydraulics factor . Youca n specify what external thread you want & buy reducing / adapting bushes to suit your system .

They will even make up pressure hoses to your requirments .

If you do use a gas bottle as an air receiver , mount it upside down with a T-piece in the neck , to the bottom of the T fit a ball valve & let the air feeed in from the side of the T-piece . This means you can drain any water / moisture build up created .

The gas smell is only a smell caused by the stenchant used to tell of leaks , it lasts a long long time , i use truck wash & hot water to remove / reduce the eefects

Actually you don't need a drain valve if you mount the bottle upside down. Water will be expelled anyway as the air exits the bottle and you can catch it in a trap further down the line.
