it will give you a longer burst of air before it drops in pressure then it takes twice as long to fill so it has its use

Right.....so whilst my big compressor motor is undergoing repairs adding my 24 litre compressor to the 200 litre reservoir already piped in round the workshop is better than using the 24 litre on its own?
It's mainly used for. Bridgeport air tool use and blowing of chips from lathe and mill.

if you don't have any leaks then yes join them together... it'll take an age to fill it the first time and to re-fill the system when it kicks in again

but I always like to have that extra air capacity available :-)
