Can somebody confirm this is the motor windings star point

Sorry I should of made it clear that when I tried to test it on an old 440v 3 phase outlet socket in my work yard I crimped the 3 new wires back together so it was wired in star configuration again NOT in delta

As said I am hoping it was the socket that's not working and not the motor but I have a horrible feeling it's gonna be the motor! Annoyingly I didn't realise a new duel voltage motor was only £150 as this old 1 cost me £100 but I bought it as it said it was an original M300 motor

What were the resistances of the three windings?

What ohms should I set the meter at? I tried it on all ohm settings and couldn't get it to show anything!

Am I checking between u1 & u2 and v1 & v2 as direct end to end or between u1 and v2 etc

I tried all and got nothing

No? Think the battery may be going flat though as screen was very faint

Il get a new battery this morning, what ohm setting should I have it on

Found another battery and done a resistance test with meter set at 200ohm as that's the lowest setting I have

Marc you're worrying too much. If you have continuity button it up and attach it to your vfd in delta. If you're really worried bring b it over to me and I'll run it up on my spare vfd for you.

That all looks fine. 6 Ohms for each set of coils is quite acceptable.

Thanks for the offer Pete but came up with another solution after a google search and a few YouTube video


Motor tested and all working ok in both directions, it's running in reverse in the clip but swapped it to forwards after video just to check and all ok

I'm now going to order a vfd today

Il try one of the huanyang versions as spoke to a lot of people who say they are just as good as expensive ones and also on the Harrison yahoo group there somebody with one on there M300 running exactly how I want to run so for £95 I will give one a go.

Do not run it like that for any length of time, the motor is not up to running speed in the video, and that can lead to heavy currents in the windings, but like Pete has said, I believe you will not have an issue when you get your VFD.

Yeah I know it's not good for it for any length of time but the motor was only run up twice for the length of time shown in the video just to test it at home with no 3 phase supply for my peace of mind to show that it's all working ok,
