Cant get Red Diesel at pumps?

I'm lucky. We have a local place who sells red and kero and is also cheapest for diesel (compared to the supermarkets). He also sells coal. I try and use him as much as possible as forecourts like this are few and far between now. Get red for my tractor there and he isnt much more than the cost to buy by the 1000litres. I think it was 96ppl last time (jan). The neighbour paid 88ppl recently

father has run veg oil 50/50 mix in the iveco but not the stove think the pumps might find it a bit thick

I wouldnt risk it in an eberspacher type heater. I'm sure a member on here used to work servicing them and advised against it.

I wouldn’t recommend it either, these heaters will run on used engine oil and diesel mixture, you tube has many examples, but what they don’t show you is the combustion chamber after the experiment, I would imagine they’d need a de-coke after a short period.

I got my China Diesel heater today.

Went to get 5L of Red Diesel. I went to several filling stations in Co Tyrone NI here and the ones that did Red at pump no longer have it. One had the nozzle but no fuel when I went to pump. Staff were clueless when I asked what was up with that.

Is Red Derv now totally outlawed at pumps or what? I am familiar that they are forcing building sites to use it now (which is a disgrace IMO) but this was a surprise that I'm putting forking white Diesel into my heater!!

Find your local farm services supplier / fuel supplier. Ours is Billericay Farm Services/Fuel Services.

I found a local place that does have red diesel but it is £1.24 a litre and they also had Kero at pump for 99.99p a litre so I got 4.5L of Kero to keep my heater going in my garage

perfect let them know how it goes next time find a friendly neighbour, bigger saving father just had 500 liters today at 71p

I can still get Red in some of the stations around here.

Did you try Glendale in Omagh? Or one of the heating oil suppliers - they often have a red pump on the premises. Just don't go with a gallon can, a couple of 20l jerry cans at a minimum.

Just found a local filling station today that has red diesel at the pump. I filled a large jerry can for my diesel heaters and Lavor hot washer.

Pay at pump, simples. 99.9p per litre though


Just seems pricey but then everything is nowadays. I recall when it was circa 50 - 60ppl a few years back.

You can ask for a delivery, thats still a legal use.

I can get Kerosene at pumps OK so that may be an option.

Add some hydraulic oil to the kero or you may find yourself in trouble.
25 Litres of 38 weight Hydraulic oil to 500 litres of kero in a tank (IBC) works well.

the diesel heaters all work fine on kero. they are even specced for it.

I have both but only have a proper pump in the red tank. But Im a bit far for you.
