Yes - ish. And I see you just did. When I bought my Sentinel it was about £250, I recently sold it on here for £135 and it wa in good condition. Only reason I sold it was to go up into the stratospheric price band and I consider my new Optrel one of my best buys.

I've been using an sif lite auto darkening helmet. My close distance eye sight isnt brilliant, I use +2 reading glasses.I use a +2 Cheater lens in my current helmet. Workshop lighting is very good.I struggled with mig with this helmet, So my question is, would a better helmet improve visibility?

Ted with glasses, a cheater and the helmet lenses I was wondering if light pollution coming into the back of the helmet was a problem.

It was at one point but I solved that with some fabric velcroed to the helmet to form a hood. Still couldn't see!

Thanks, what did you use before this and was there a significant difference when you upgraded?

I just had a 50 quid jobby before, it really was like turning the lights on and a much more comfortable fit. I see you just bagged yourself a bargain

Tried my Lincoln 3350 today. Massive improvement, I can see what I'm doing now. Still learning but it's a lot easier when you can see. Pavement stop cock key, other end is a a welded on old socket using the 3/8" drive down over for the valve.

Aldi & Lidl from time to time sell auto helmets, £25.00 - If you don't find its suitable you can always return it - Point to ponder should you buy one make sure its complete, last time they had them in, several boxes had been robbed.
They usually at the same time sell the magnet corners, quite strong.

Make sure you can actually see ok at the distance you want to weld at first ,, if so then work on helmets and cheater lenses , if you cant see well at your comfy welding distance then its eye test time and plan the route forwards from there .
But yes a good helmet is a must if you do anything more than stick a couple of bits of angle together every few years.
