Got a bit of time to clean up and have a closer look at the weekend.
This is the offending part of the stub axle, as said above, its been ripped to pieces by the outer bearing failing under load. Apart from the fact that the surface is heavily scored it is also measuring up about 11 thou smaller than the other stub axles, so as said above - don't see banging another new bearing on as a viable fix.
On the upside, finally made contact with Indespension who have said they can make a replacement axle so have measured up the dim's and will see what the quote comes back at
