Yes its definitely a good idea to standardise set-ups.
Wonder if the male female connectors reasonably priced.I see some plugs priced at £30 a pop. Which blows the budget when converted to euro.

I get them at trade but they are still expensive. But over the life of the machine the outlay is minimal.

It is standard, the genuine torch allows you to access the background level 1 and level 2 menus but they were never necessary for us to meddle with so I changed the sockets. I did however link the wires and left the old socket connected inside the machine cable tied inside a plastic pouch so it would be an easy job to reinstate the original fittings if the need ever arose.

Hi Jim, I've done the same with my 2002 and used the flat pin Tuchel socket, not sure I have the right connections though as when I press the trigger on my WP26FX torch the weld starts normally, HF et al but when I release the trigger the weld continues?? I have to drag the torch away from the workpiece to stop the weld, and it's on 2-step selected. Thinking I may have selected the wrong two wires from the old 7 pin socket, can you advise which pin numbers from the plug I should use??

Have you got a Long downslope time selected? It’s a small aluminium potentiometer just below the 8 segment LED voltage display. If that’s enabled for a long duration it will seem like the weld is carried on.
These pots often break as they are quite fragile.

Hi Jim,

No the downslope is turned all the way down, can you advise which two pins I should be using off the 7 pin socket please?, I'll go check the downslope pot to see if it's open circuit or damaged. Do you know what value the pot is as it's not identified on the wiring schematic?

@Jim Davey . ok checked the wiring and it appears to be ok. I have found a fault in the slope down pot, it's a 100k Vishay pcb vertical mount item but I'm struggling to find an equivalent. Might be due to part number changes.

Hi,
I just bought a 3002. I just couldn´t resist, the price was very good and the condition great for the machines age.
The seller used it once in a blue moon and the pump got stuck because of that. The torch hoses where impressivly meltet to the cable, I have never seen that before.

I have to add another torch anyway, so I also did the Dinse mod. Here is the result.
To jump through the hidden menues I will also build a Tuchel Plug with an attached momentum switch which replaces the torch trigger, when using a pedal.

Macfun, yes it was the same euro connector like the 2002. Similar to the ones you might find on many Mig/Mag units.

I modified a pulse remote today and add a switch to turn pulse of. Before it was just possible by pulling the plug to the machine. But I have to try it another day.
I also fitted a restored Gessmann Pedal which I like much more then the original Fronius design.
A friend made a little board for me. So wiring it the right way was very easy.
The pedal works fine.
