a quick google showed the chap is South African

strong money for an unusual bike though

anything post 1941 is a bit of a mystery to me, well I know a bit about 50's AMC but not much.... once owned an OW01 though.

Probably stating the obvious, Clews Competition Machines originally based on the BSA B50 cleared out of the factory and many derivatives from there. Is that a Yamaha XT engine or a modified Suzuki?

honestly I don’t know

but seeing as they had such a small run I’d say that’s about right

Afraid like @Matchless I have a limited bike knowledge: mainly Triumph's from the Tiger Cub and Speed twin to Bonnevilles and a jump to the first Hinkley Triumph's, Matchless heavyweight singles, Ariel singles, BMW air cooled twins, with an oil head and KTM 950 adventure thrown in. The nearest thing I owned to a CCM was an old CZ 360 dirt bike that I fell off a lot.

Looks not bad, though like others I would prefer a proper CCM or better still a BSA B50.

Have you considered and Armstrong, i loved riding mine

Strangely enough I had two of them years back but found it really heavy off road and awful drum brakes

That's what makes them brilliant. Makes my ktm seem easy
