My toes were curling just watching the OP's video clip. Necessity is the mother of invention, but I suspect there's a valid reason for no-one coming up with that idea before.

i have decided although it cuts very quickly and has some merit,there are too many negative issues,(mostly to do with safety)i am not going to proceed with this device.....to answer rtb,s relevant question, if you keep the trigger depressed and cut the power at the wall,the chain does not stop immediately,it freewheel,s to a stop(perhaps two seconds)thus it must have some type of dynamic brake linked to the trigger assy....so handy to know!...

a few years ago I made my own electric chainsaw....... didn't work too well but I never cut myself on it either
