I've never had a problem with Lechler Epoxy adhering but mine always goes on media blasted panels or sanded panels, I've never had it come off anywhere.
I agree, metal ready is probably not needed, but the main reason i use it, is to stop rust forming on bare metal and the better paint adhesion part is a bonus.
well my plan is still to use the 2k epoxy, after the base of the car has been wire brushed i will roughen the surface with sand paper,with regards to this

I don't know about actually in London it is a big place
but I have been buying Lechler Epoxy from Kent Car Panels (just off the M20) and I believe there is a supplier near Gatwick whose name escapes me. No doubt there will be suppliers in North London, but living in South London it is easier for me to go to Kent of Surrey.
Talking to local paint suppliers, Epoxy tends to be thought of as a commercial vehicle refinishing product so you might have better luck finding it in Ireland if you look for suppliers other than 'car' paint suppliers.

As zx9 said its regarded as a commercial/industrial product, wire brushing is not the ideal way to prepare the surface if its pitted as the rust will still be there in the pits.
the place near gatwick would be ideal,any chance you could find the name? its pot luck in ireland,they will either not know anything about what they are selling,or be too mean to tell you anything,that lad who suggested the etch paint is supposedly one of the top painters around so im going to paint it myself and if i screw it up well so be it at least i may learn somthing,ive got an air fed mask 3 compressors various water traps and im going to get a new devilbliss gun for the topcoat,and one of the lads at work as a side project makes bouncing castles and ive got him to make me an enclosed plastic spray booth that hangs from the ceiling on 8 hooks,help much appreciated lads
