Ta very muchly for those. Whets my appetite a bit.
I've been kicking around the idea of a Mini-Lathe, but not too keen on the tiddler. I was aware there is a size up from that, which this covers nicely.
Think long and hard about your bench. It would be very easy to introduce a degree of twist to the lathe bed if the bench is super strong with a warped top surface.
so when are you getting a milling machine to go with the lathe now
you do realise that you are going to be everyones envy as well as jealous by having extra tools in your ladies workshop
its going to be an interesting convo with your sewing forum mrsbruce
A shaper goes better with a lathe - you can share the tooling!
Now you just need space for a wee mill!(Whisper) I now have two lathes.
A Clarke cl300, with lots of stuff with it.
I am justifying it all with the concept of you need a milling machine to properly build a lathe, and since I do not have one, another lathe should (almost) do the job.
I’m blaming you lot.

I forsee a new shed build comming fairly soon for the "man size" lathe and mill! You missed out the tig welder.
I feel the need to buy another sewing machine, just to give a bit balance, and fill that little bit of space in the livingroom.

i can just see mrsbruce taking that shed down and douberling the space it has inside of it by pushing the walls out welding up new angle iron roof and then reroofing it all
by the look of it got the space to do it as well
Looks like a very old Warco 918. I see the switch shaft for the visor safety switch that only Warco used. There is a photo to satisfy your cravings
One less job for Mrs bruce.
You’ve been reading my mind, haven’t you.
Very nice potential workshops, although I have been considering a 3rd option. There is approximately a 12”” gap between both huts. What if I took a ‘tin opener’ to the sides of the huts, and joined them together. I could have a ‘frankenhut’ of reasonable proportions.
