That's the reason parts of the Forth road bridge has started to disintegrate! inferior cheap Chinese steel. The worrying thing is, the new bridge they are building next to this one is made totally! from the same cheap material.
would this be a cunning plan by the Chinese betting gangs to nobble horse racing by hoping the shoes fall offOne more pic of another shoe, Awful photograph, don't seem to be able to focus really close, but you get the recurring theme, They look fine before the acid bath and i suppose that they are only nailed to the hoof for a few weeks so maybe "fit for purpose" just hope they don't use the same steel to make anything critical,

Right.........probably bad forging then. They should have been wire brushed or the steel was really really bad. Im not sure what size the raw material will be.They don't look cast Al. The shoe ends show it best but poor photo, the ends look like layer upon layer with the inter leaved slag layers eaten away
My grandfather also works in the steel mill a long time before me,And i remember him telling that they sometimes threw heather onto the red hot steel as it went through the rollers, Am i just imagining this or has anybody else know the reason why.
When i served my time in the steel works, every pass through the mill got blasted with water and it got rid of the scale quick-time, My grandfather also works in the steel mill a long time before me,And i remember him telling that they sometimes threw heather onto the red hot steel as it went through the rollers, Am i just imagining this or has anybody else know the reason why.
Did @brightspark not purchase the rights? If not he's missed a trick there!!I always thought the BS corporate logo was an excellent bit of graphic design; I wonder if it will make a return too?
No the forth road bridge wasn't built using chinese steel, but replacement parts are.Was the Forth road bridge really built with cheap Chinese steel? I should have thought it pre- dated the Chinese steel exporting it here?
"An engineer who works for Amey"What a load of rubbish. What basis do you have for that other than some man in the pub whose brother used to live in Carlisle and that's nearly in Scotland.
