Just had a look at guns - i think the SRI would be sufficient for my requirements anyway, like you i think i could compromise on it. Not cheap guns though are they!

buy a good quality gun and look after it it will last u a lifetime i have a devillbiss jga pannel gun and used it for 40 years its still as good as new

Wow that's impressive. My old man has many paint guns, the best one by miles and the one he still uses is the first he bought - an old siphon fed generic gun. All his others have degraded or clogged but this one has always worked well. I'll keep an eye out for a nice gun. I've been given a GTI but it's a siphon gun, also got a smaller devilbiss touch up gun that's gravity fed. No idea what it is though, think it's quite old. Got given it by a friend at work.
I picked my sri hd which is same gun as the sri pro, even has sri pro on parts installed in it off eBay brand new and boxed for £130 so a good buy. Was offered a gti hd for £150 but as I didn't want to invest in another compressor I didn't bother. So bargains are around if you look.
