i think that strongbow is a brilliant all rounder... good taste, good alcohol content, good price, available almost everywhere...

i hate going into a pub to find that they only have blackthorn. thats frustrating.

Absolutely, totally agree on all 3 points!

I sometimes have a dash of lemonade in Blackthorn just to take the edge off it.

I can't remember the name of the cider that I drank in SA on a steam safari a few years ago, but the one thing that they did do out there was to serve it with a slice of lemon - really sharpened it up- a nice bite, so to speak.

The other trick was to stuff a slice of lemeon into the neck of the bottle before they poured it out.

I still have it like that here

Unfortunately we don't have a choice of ciders here, certainly not in the pubs, choice is Strongbow or Blackthorn (which I'm not keen on)
I have just checked the Christmas Strongbow situation and seeing I'm back at work on the 27th I'm down to my last 114 cans

Try a cider called Katy, its a single apple variety made by Thatchers,only ever had it in bottles and at over 7% its quite potent

When I was a student, we made 'wine' out of cartons of orange and apple juice. Drank it by the half-pint!

Oh yeh that reminds me, I used the cider recipe but with lidl red grape juice and made a rather nice "wine"
